l had a bridge done in June. It actually sticks out from my gum and food gets between the bridge and my gum's. It looks and feels too big for my mouth!

Does most dental bridges stick out from the gum

No, dental bridge is not suppose to stick out. Although it is possible if u have such bridge on for over 5 years due to gum recession. That is why according to dental guidelines u should replace any dentures, crowns or bridges every 5 years.
Since u had it placed in June the dental bridge was done improperly & ur dentist should replace it at no charge (but u might pay the lab fee).
There is an option that ur gum condition is poor, but ur dentist should've inform u about it. And that could be the reason why u developed food impaction. But if u have food impaction from the first time the bridge was cemented, I'd say its a bad dental work.

It sounds like your bridge is the result of shoddy dental work. I have two bridges in my mouth and they fit just fine. They also do not trap food under them. I did have one of them re-done because it was incompetently done the first time. It did not fit right and caused me to have a lot of discomfort.
